Getting Here
Most visitors arrive by ferry to Cruz Bay, St. John’s main hub. Conrad Sutton Jeep & Car Rental is located one block from the Ferry Docks. The Virgin Islands National Park Headquarters is just a couple of blocks away and is a good first stop for trail maps, activity information, and park brochures.
BEACHES
St. John has 16 beaches. The most popular include Trunk Bay, Maho Bay, Francis Bay, and Leinster Bay. Trunk Bay and Leinster Bay at Waterlemon Cay both have marked underwater snorkeling trails.
HIKING
The National Park maintains several trails, including the Francis Bay Trail, a boardwalk path through a tropical forest. The Ram Head Trail runs along the southern coast to a dramatic rocky point. The Reef Bay Trail leads to a waterfall, ancient petroglyphs, and the ruins of a Danish sugar plantation.
